Finding Books

The Lois Level is for folks who love to read well.

And hope to be well read ;).

It’s not about what’s new; it’s about what’s great.

We are book lovers, just like you, who want to help you make discovering…or rediscovering…great reads fun and easy.

We look for reads that are entertaining, enlightening, and easily available.

On top of all of that, we show you how to read with maximum benefit and minimal money.

Public access to great reading materials is one of the wonders of our age, and at The Lois Level, we believe that lifelong growth and learning is the best thing you can do for yourself, your family, your country, and the world.

And we show you where to find things you will love to read (it also has to be fun), no matter who you are or where you are.

If you live in the United States (and many other countries), you have an amazing book crowdsourcing and curation service FREE to you through your public library, and almost everyone in the world has at least some access to the Internet.

Here at The Lois Level, we will help you figure it all out and find things you will love!

We use these sources:

A. Public Libraries

Our local public libraries, similar to what is available to most Americans in medium sized cities or with a good regional library systems.

Note: If you reside in the U.S. but lack either an address or U.S. identification, you may still have the right to check out print and/or digital materials with no fee. Consult your local library’s website or give them a call. Also check neighboring cities or counties; they may also offer free services to your community. E-mail Lois at Lois@theloislevel.com if you need someone to make a call to your local library for you.

B. Brooklyn Public Library digital membership

A digital membership to The Brooklyn Public Library, is available to all U.S. residents for $50 a year.

Note: The Orange County Library System (Florida) extends a similar program to those living outside the United States for $125/year.

C. Public Domain and other Online Materials

Online and especially public domain materials, often through Project Gutenberg, that are available via the Internet to almost everyone, worldwide, with no log in.

No matter where or who you are, join us on The Lois Level! You’ll be glad you did!
